October 2013 - Update
Vocabulary coming along nicely, but now we have the battle of the Potty! He seems to think it’s a toy, he gets off, does an inspection of it inside and out, sits down again, then follows the same ritual as before, hopefully he will soon figure out what it’s for, although we are sure he knows full well, just having some fun!
September 2013 - Update
Settling in nicely into his “new” room! He is starting to say a few words now, a real little parrot, will try to copy everything you say. He is very cute when I tuck him up in bed at night, we first have prayers,(afterwards he says “Amen”), then a game of peeping through the slats in his cot, then he says “night night”, this ritual happens every night! He is still kissing every one, if the children move away from him, he holds then until he has finished kissing them, at lease 3 times, so sweet (when he is not crying for attention).
August 2013 - Update
Still throwing wobblies every time he sees someone new, hoping that they will pick him up and feel sorry for him, just loves the attention. He loves to kiss everybody, a real “Romeo”. He can be so sweet sometimes. His behaviour has definitely improved since his partner left! He has taken over his partner’s room and guess what – he was peeping through the window the other evening, when he was supposed to be in bed, he has taken over more than his partner’s room!!
July 2013 - Update
He just loves to cry for attention, every time he sees a new face! He is going to miss his “partner in crime”, as him and Toddler R, were a “team” in doing everything they shouldn’t!
June 2013 - Update
Still cries all day long, maybe it has just become a habit, as sometimes there are no tears! Growing quite tall now, the doctor is very pleased with his progress.
May 2013 - Update
He loves attention, but he has been a worry of late, when he sees anyone new, he throws himself on the floor, bangs his head, then cries, so as to get attention, but we are so worried he is going to hurt himself badly!
April 2013 - Update
He had a wonderful birthday, out in the sunshine. I baked him a “clown” cake and a good time was had by all. He still likes to cry for attention! He is very sweet and affectionate, loves to give Big soppy kisses!
March 2013 - Update
He will be turning two on the 24th April. Still likes to cry, he’s decided it is the only way he is going to get a lot of attention, as he does it mainly when he sees a volunteer or a new face – very clever!
February 2013 - Update
He is turning two in April! Very sweet little boy, just likes to turn on the waterworks when it suits him! He had his monthly check up a few weeks ago and the doctor is very pleased with his progress.
January 2013 - Update
Very happy little boy, excepting when he gets upset, he cries for hrs afterwards! He has an Erruption Cyst on his gum, so that is probably what’s upsetting him at the moment. Walking all over the place now!
November - Update
Still smiling, unless he can’t get his own way, then wow – can he holler! Just been to Dora Nginza Hospital for his check-up, The Doctor is very pleased with his progress. We had to have his blood taken, he cried for 30 min afterwards – was not a happy chappie!
October - Update
He is not very happy at the moment, as he is cutting teeth! Gets a bit miserable at times, but then it’s not long before his little face breaks out in a smile!
Septmeber - Update
“Our “happy chappie” also getting into a lot of mischief, opens the cupboard and empties all the linen, blankets etc onto the floor, then when we ask him about it – he just laughs – big joke!
August - Update
Still smiling, still banging his cot between midnight and 1am. He was going to go back to his family, much to my dissaproval, but at the last minute the family changed their minds, so he came back and is now under my foster care till we can find someone to take over his Foster caring. Praise God!!!
July - Update
Our “Happy Chappy”, still smiling, still banging on his cot regular as clockwork, every night between 12 and 1am! Has also started “head banging.”
June - Update
What a happy chappie! He is always smiling and laughing and a firm favourite with the volunteers. He slides around on his tummy and he loves to kick backwards into anything that makes a noise, the door, a chair or even in his cot. At night when he’s supposed to be sleeping, you can hear him – bang, bang bang! Surprisingly the others sleep through it all!
May - Update
At last he has started crawling – in his fashion! He spins around like a top on his tummy and is also trying, every now and then to Leopard- Crawl. He gets very frustrated when he is on his back on the floor, as he does’nt know how to roll over yet, probably because he is such a shorty! He had his check-up recently – Dr says he is doing very well!
April - Update
Such a sweety, but don’t dare keep his food away from him, he turns into a monster! We discovered a tooth yesterday – hooray!
March - Update
Doing very well, cute as a button – a firm favourite with all the volunteers!
February - Update
Growing well, eats like a horse, every time the bowl is empty, he screams – not that ist’s a small bowl either!
January - Update
Our new male addition – very small for his age, but very cute! Give him time as well – you’ll see!
